Thank you for taking the time to visit our consultation page in respect of residential development, open space, associated infrastructure and access arrangements on land at Station Rd, Mauchline (Local Development Plan Allocation MA-H2)
This online consultation forms part of the Proposal of Application Notice (PAN) which is currently being undertaken to provide information on the potential development. We are eager to obtain your feedback on the proposed development, and all comments and feedback will be reviewed and taken into consideration in the development of the proposals prior to a formal Planning Application being lodged with East Ayrshire Council.
The following has been prepared on behalf of Keepmoat Homes Ltd, Lady Hilda Etain Hagart-Alexander, and Sir Claud Hagart-Alexander.
We propose to develop the site to the North of Station Rd, taking access to the site from Station Rd to provide a mix of 3 – 5 bedroom houses. They will vary in scale from 2- 2.5 storeys in height and will comprise detached, semi-detached and terraced housing.
Housing will be located onto Station Rd and Barskimming Rd to continue the existing line of the street, with new routes created within the site. The roads will be designed to promote pedestrian access and provide traffic calming. Footpaths will be located to promote pedestrian connections within the site and to surrounding areas.
Key locations across the development, at corners and junctions, will incorporate feature elements to enrich and enliven the surrounding townscape, making positive contributions to the overall sense of place.
Each house will have a private rear garden. The communal landscape spaces throughout the development will be designed to enhance local biodiversity providing habitats for a range of species.
Where are we now?
A Proposal of Application Notice (PoAN) associated with the development was submitted to East Ayrshire Council in September 2025.
This project website forms part of the 12-week pre-application period and the first of two public consultation events. It is designed to provide information on the emerging proposals, to explain and answer questions on the proposals, and to record comments and feedback to ensure these may be considered prior to a planning application being lodged with East Ayrshire Council.
In addition to this online consultation the following consultation events will also be undertaken.
Consultation Event 01
Consultation Event 02
What happens next?

This website does not relate to a planning application. Comments should not be made to East Ayrshire Council. Any comments made to the prospective applicant are not representations to the Planning Authority. If a planning application is subsequently submitted to East Ayrshire Council, statutory neighbour notification and publicity will be undertaken and you will have the opportunity to make formal representations regarding the proposal at that time.
Thank you for taking the time to visit our project website.
We have prepared a series of boards which contain information about the proposed development, including existing site information, planning context, site analysis, opportunities and constraints, along with precedents for how the new development may look – please note that these are indicative only, with final proposals to be developed ahead of the formal Planning Application.
These boards are available to view in person at the events or by clicking the links below to download a copy of our presentation material.
We are keen to get your views on the proposals to help inform how we develop the design before the Planning Application is submitted.
