Summer BBQ 2026
Much of our working week is spent across different projects, teams and locations. That flexibility works, but we also recognise the importance of creating time for everyone to come together away from the day-to-day demands of project work.
That’s why we make space in the calendar throughout the year for team days and social events, opportunities to spend time together with no agenda beyond catching up, having some fun and enjoying each other’s company.
Our annual summer BBQ is probably the most relaxed of them.
This year, the MAST team got together for an afternoon of food, drinks, games and some fairly competitive volleyball. The BBQ was fired up, the gazebo was on standby and, thankfully, the weather stayed on our side. It was a chance to switch off from work and spend time together outside the studio.
These afternoons aren’t about outputs or deliverables. They’re about the conversations and shared experiences that strengthen relationships across the practice, and ultimately help us work better together when we’re back at our desks.
Part of how we do business
As a certified B Corporation, how we look after our team isn’t separate from how we run the business, it’s part of how we choose to do business. Making time to come together is an important part of that.
B Corp’s approach considers a company’s impact across a range of areas, including its workers. For us, that reinforces the importance of creating a supportive, inclusive workplace and continuing to look at how we can make MAST a good place to work.
Our team events are one small part of that wider commitment. They create space for colleagues across different roles and projects to mix, strengthen relationships and simply enjoy spending time together.
And, as with the bigger decisions we make, we try to think about the details too — from sourcing locally where possible to making use of what we already have.
