Life begins at…20?

Our colleague and Director Mark Johnstone recently reached the milestone of twenty years at MAST Architects – remarkably with only a few more grey hairs than he started with!  Mark joined the practice in 2000 after graduating from the University of Strathclyde, having previously worked as a student at Keppie Design (and before that, a brief but illustrious career as Dunoon’s premier Matt Damon impersonator).  After obtaining his Part 3 qualification, Mark was promoted to Associate in 2002, and Partner in 2004.  Following a change to the company structure in 2013, Mark moved to a Director role.

Together with fellow Directors Michael Jarvis and David Denholm, Mark has overseen significant practice growth and expansion over recent years, with staff numbers now at 50+.  This period has seen the practice become involved in an ever-wider geographical area covering the length and breadth of Scotland, working with a range of private, public and RSL clients.  Mark has been instrumental in strengthening the position of the practice as a market leader in the housing sector, delivering consistently high levels of service to our clients with a willingness to go ‘above and beyond’, with this also guiding our moves into other work sectors.  Mark’s attention to detail and methodical approach has become semi-legendary, thanks in no small part to his role in supporting a number of candidates through the Part 3 exam process – maintaining a 100% pass rate!

Congratulations from all at Team MAST on this achievement – a top quality carriage clock is in the post!
