Client:
Social Enterprise Clydebank
Location: Dalmuir
Project value: £1.95m
Completion Date: 2012
The brief was to design a new build training and environmental centre for one of Clydebank’s local social enterprise organisations. Having outgrown their previous accommodation, they required a new facility which combined office space with storage and training areas.
The building sought to reflect the client’s wish for a ‘flagship’ facility, one which stood apart from its industrial context. A palette of high-quality contemporary materials were selected, including untreated Scottish larch cladding, facing brick and fibre-cement cladding panels to deliver a detailed scheme that sat apart from its industrial surroundings. Working alongside the client, we explored opportunities for best practice in energy efficiency and sustainable design.
