Our development at Hill Street, Kilmarnock, offers 45 new dwellings in a range of house types, comprising two and three bedroom family houses in addition to cottage flats and dedicated dwellings for wheelchair and amenity use. The project, completed for Cunninghame Housing Association, occupies a prominent site in central Kilmarnock adjacent to Ayrshire College, and replaces a series of unpopular flatted blocks which were badly affected by crime and anti-social behaviour.
The house mix responds to a desire to reintroduce family housing into the area and represents a deliberate shift away from the walk-up flatted blocks previously in situ. Redevelopment of this site marks the first in a series of wider regeneration initiatives planned for the area over the coming years.
