About the project
Client: Family Action in Rogerfield & Easterhouse
Form of contract: Traditional
Project value: £1.25m
MAST collaborated closely with Family Action in Rogerfield & Easterhouse (FARE) to develop proposals for a new build community facility. This exciting multi-purpose space was to be used by local youth groups and enable greater outreach to the wider community.
Our involvement in the development of this community facility began with the initial feasibility study. Following planning consent, the concept for the project was born. A detailed options appraisal exercise inspired hands-on, extensive user and community consultation. This process encouraged us to consider life cycle options and focus on the most sustainable solution possible.
Far from being solely a sports facility, the building also includes a crèche, craft rooms, IT suite and offices. We aimed to acutely address local issues surrounding the area’s youth, acting as an outreach centre for the entire community. The completed project and building is now in operation following backing from a local entrepreneur.
