We’ve recently submitted a Planning Application for a much-needed affordable housing development on the Isle of Arran.
Springbank, in Brodick, will provide 26 new homes for affordable rent on behalf of Trust Housing Association and will be delivered by The JR Group. The site occupies an elevated position close to the ferry terminal, overlooking Brodick’s busy waterfront, and offering expansive views across to Goat Fell and Arran’s stunning natural landscape.
Our approach has been to create a simple form which continues the predominant settlement pattern to the west, allowing the development to work with the local topography and minimise costly retention. We have developed a material language which is drawn from aspects of the island’s local architecture, particularly its agricultural buildings, utilising compositions of masonry and cladding.
We are very pleased to have reached this important milestone, and are looking forward to taking the project through the next stages of design development.
