MAST work across the ‘disciplines’ of conservation; repair, refurbishment and creative adaptation. We re-imagine spaces to meet the current and future needs of users, preserving the historic understanding for local people and maintaining a link with the past, while providing continuity and explanation of the heritage to future generations.
We believe that the most successful work comes about through a process of early investigation, analysis and research, which combine into a detailed understanding of a site or building’s ‘story’. This can inspire new ideas, incorporating aspects of the site’s heritage whether physically or metaphorically, to create spaces to suit new uses while preserving an understanding of the past.
