Join us at 12 noon on Tuesday 6th February for the first of this year’s webinar series!
Our panellists Morgan Stephen Milne and Michael Jarvis will be discussing the new Social Housing Net Zero Standard in Scotland, and the implications this will have for the housing sector.
Background
The Scottish Government Zero Emissions Social Housing Task force (ZEST) called for a review of the EESSH2 standard to bring in into line with the governments wider net zero goals and to provide clarity for social landlords.
The EESSH2 review group was convened in September 2022 whose remit was to propose a new target for reducing climate change emissions from social housing which aligned with Scotland’s 2045 net zero target, and which ensured a just transition so that people are not left behind. Subsequent to the findings of the review group the Social Housing Net Zero in Scotland (SHNZS) consultation, to replace EESSH2, has been published to seek views on the new proposed standard.
The consultation was published in December 2023 and closes in March 2024. This brief presentation will guide you through the proposals within the consultation and their potential impacts for affordable housing.
