Introduction

Thank you for taking the time to visit our consultation page in respect of the new-build housing development at the site adjacent to Lochend Road, Glasgow.

The proposed development will be delivered by Wheatley Homes, with the project being designed by MAST Architects, G3 Consulting Engineers and OOBE Landscape Architects.

This online consultation forms part of the Proposal of Application Notice (PAN) which is currently being undertaken to provide information on the potential development. We are eager to obtain your feedback on the proposed development and all comments and feedback will be reviewed and taken into consideration in the development of the proposals prior to a formal Planning Application being lodged with Glasgow City Council.

Project Information

Wheatley Homes propose to develop the site to the north of Lochend Road, bound by Auchengill Road and Skelbo Path, to provide around 69 new build homes, comprising two, three and four bedroom houses and cottage flats.

The mix of two storey houses, semi-detached, terraces, and cottage flats with varying parking arrangements will provide diversity in the proposed streetscape.

Where are we now?

A Proposal of Application Notice (PoAN) associated with the development was submitted to Glasgow Council in January 2024.

This project website forms part of the 12-week pre-application period and is the first of two public consultation events. The feedback obtained from this consultation event will be reviewed and the proposals further developed in line with the comments received. A second consultation will also be held to provide further information on the developing proposals, to explain and answer questions received from the initial consultation exercise, and to record further comments and feedback in order to ensure these may be considered prior to the planning application being lodged with Glasgow City Council.

In addition to this online consultation, two in-person events will also be held:

Consultation Event 01

The first in-person consultation event will be hosted on Monday 19th February 2024 from 4pm-7pm at Easterhouse Phoenix Community Centre, 5 Shandwick St, Easterhouse, Glasgow G34 9BN.

Consultation Event 02

A second event will be hosted on Monday 18th March 2024 from 4pm-7pm at Easterhouse Phoenix Community Centre, 5 Shandwick St, Easterhouse, Glasgow G34 9BN.

What happens next?

We encourage attendees to complete the online feedback form in order to share their comments on the proposed development, or alternatively comments can also be sent via email to publicconsultation@mastarchitects.co.uk

Please submit any comments on the proposed development in response to this consultation by the 11th April 2024.

Please note this consultation does not relate to a Planning Application. Comments should not be made to Glasgow City Council. Please note that any comments made to the prospective applicant are not representations to the Planning authority. If a Planning Application is subsequently submitted to Glasgow City Council, normal neighbour notification will be undertaken at that time by the Council and you will have the opportunity to make formal representations regarding the proposal at that time.

The planning application will be accompanied by various technical information and reports.

Thank you for taking the time to visit our project website.

Documents & Downloads

We have prepared some presentation boards which contain information about the proposed development and how the new development may look – please note that these are indicative only, with final proposals to be developed ahead of the formal Planning Application.
