Thank you for taking the time to visit our consultation page in respect of the new-build affordable housing development at Kennedy Drive, Kilmarnock.
The proposed development will be delivered on behalf of East Ayrshire Council by their contractor partners CCG (Scotland) Ltd, with the project being designed by MAST Architects, G3 Consulting Engineers, and MBLA Design (Landscape Architects).
We are keen to obtain your feedback on the proposed development ahead of a formal application for Planning Permission.
The proposed development is situated on the former site of Silverwood Primary School, and will provide a total of 48 new affordable homes. We have worked in conjunction with East Ayrshire Council to establish a house mix to address local need, comprising a range of dwelling sizes from two to eight bedroomed types.
Parking provision has been provided in accordance with the guidance of the Ayrshire Roads Alliance, with two and three bedroom houses being provided with two spaces, and larger housetypes (three bedrooms and above) having three spaces. All private parking is located within the curtilage of each plot. Unallocated visitor parking is arranged across the site, with a total of 12 spaces provided (equivalent to 0.25 spaces per dwelling).
All dwellings are provided with extensive private rear gardens (sized in accordance with East Ayrshire Council’s development guidance), with parking provided within the front garden of each plot. Elements of communal landscaping are also included across the site, with footpath links being formed to connect the site with existing routes to the south and east.
We have prepared a booklet which contains information about the proposed development, including site layouts, floor plans and some artist’s impressions of what the new homes may look like – please note that these are indicative only, with final proposals to be developed ahead of the formal Planning Application.
