This project comprised the refurbishment of a pair of elegant Category C Listed red sandstone tenement properties in Parkhead Cross.
Externally, the works involved the removal of later additions and the careful reinstatement of historic features, using traditional materials sympathetic to the building’s construction. The roof was re-slated, stone repairs carried out, rainwater goods reinstated in cast iron and timber sash and case windows installed.
Internally, works comprised almost complete renewal of the building fabric including structural repairs, new wiring, new gas central heating and extract ventilation ducted to rear elevation, new kitchens and bathrooms new insulation, building services and separating floor build up to meet current standards, new fire doors to flat entrances, and new fire doors within flats.
