Thank you for taking time to visit our online consultation in respect of the proposed redevelopment of the former East Dunbartonshire Council headquarters site (known as Tom Johnston House) at Civic Way, Kirkintilloch.

In accordance with Planning legislation, a Proposal of Application Notice was submitted to East Dunbartonshire Council on 7th January 2019 confirming the intention of East Dunbartonshire Council, with their development partners Hub West and CCG (Scotland) Ltd., to develop the site. The description of the development is as follows:

New-build residential development comprising flats and houses, with associated landscaping, parking and services infrastructure.

The Proposal of Application Notice (PAN) was validated by East Dunbartonshire Council on 5th February 2019 and given the reference number TP/ED/19/0026.

Project Information

The proposed development looks to provide a total of 87 new dwellings for East Dunbartonshire Council in a variety of unit types and sizes, comprising two and three-bed terraced housing in addition to one and two-bed common close and cottage flats. Across the development, a total of 8 no. units are offered specifically for wheelchair users.

A single four-storey flatted block is positioned along the site’s eastern boundary, with Lenzie Road. New terraced housing and cottage flats are located to the interior of the site, with some housing fronting on to Civic Way, to the north.

Pedestrian and cycle connectivity are important part of the scheme, with access permitted through the site, from the existing pedestrian crossing on the corner of Lenzie Road and Gallowhill Road and an existing footpath to The Loaning, at the western end of Civic Way.

New areas of communal open space are also provided within the site, including a public space on Lenzie Road. High quality landscaping is introduced throughout in order to create an attractive and interesting environment for residents.
